Fully automated AutoStore solution improves one-stop services, and delivers 3x increase in picking productivity

The Industry Division of Würth Group, with 75 years’ experience in providing solutions in fasteners, chemicals, tools, and inventory management, offers customers over 1 million types of C-parts and other logistics services. Würth set up the CDC in Haiyan, Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province in 2015, and has been constantly integrating new technologies to its logistics and supply chain.

"The CDC in Haiyan is a major hub for the Asia-pacific market, providing a one-stop delivery of more than 65,000 product SKUs. The product category, as well as the inventory, is constantly expanding as our business grows,” says Ji Xiufeng, General Manager of Würth Industry China. “After concept design discussions, we choose an AutoStore solution powered by Swisslog, a leading brand in logistics automation.”

The Würth CDC AutoStore system in Haiyan will be managed by 8 R5 robots capable of handling over 25,000 bins. There will be three conveyor ports for picking and packing and two more for future expansion. This investment will deliver at least a threefold increase in picking productivity and over 25% more storage density.

We firmly believe that the highly automated AutoStore system will become a powerful driver of the CDC’s productivity. This project will be a benchmark of the Würth Group in Asia Pacific, and it will greatly improve our logistics service to our customers.
