Swisslog delivers the fourth AutoStore facility to Brings' Nordic initiative "Shelfless"
Gothenburg 2022-02-17 - In early 2021, Swisslog signed a framework agreement with Bring Parcels AB to supply warehouse automation for the logistics company's new fulfillment solution " Shelfless". A decision has now been made to build another automated AutoStore facility, this time at the “Østlandsterminalen” outside Oslo.
The automation solution will be built directly adjacent to the existing parcel terminal at “Østlandet”, making it possible to shorten lead times in handling and create an efficient overall solution. Installation of the system will start in the first half of 2023 when the new building is completed at the “Østlandsterminalen”. Shelfless is already present in Berger, Oslo and a facility is under construction in Rosersberg, Stockholm and in Køge, Copenhagen.
"At the Østlandsterminalen, we will use compact and energy-efficient AutoStore solutions from our automation partner Swisslog. The majority of deliveries will be fossil-free and will take place just a few hours after the customer has ordered their goods online. With this major Nordic initiative, we will be able to offer both faster and greener deliveries," says Tobias Åbonde, Nordic Director at Shelfless. The new fully automated warehouse solution will be the fourth of its kind to be established in the Nordic region in cooperation with Swisslog.
"We are immensely proud and honoured to have been chosen as a partner for Brings' offensive warehouse automation. It is a great trust we have received and we will do our utmost to continue to meet Brings' high expectations. This is the second AutoStore facility we have supplied to Bring in Norway, which is strengthening Swisslog's position as Norway's leading provider of internal logistics solutions," says Christian Walby, AutoStore Sales Manager at Swisslog.
Swisslog's framework agreement with Bring runs for five years and means that Swisslog will supply all AutoStore solutions to Bring's Nordic facilities. The delivery to Bring Shelfless “Østlandet” consists of an AutoStore with 42,000 bins, 70 R5-Redline robots, 10 gates with pick-to-light technology, 7 storage stations and Swisslog's SynQ AutoStore Software.
