Make an impact

The Head of Software Engineering EMEA  will play an integral role in the development and implementation of the software strategy for the region. The successful candidate will create structures where reports and their teams are empowered, driving ownership and accountability, working together to minimise the escalation process. Implement a structure and resources to ensure efficient software development to meet the agreed customer specifications on time and to the highest standards. You will also be required to ensure all software engineering teams in the region work according to Swisslog’s standard processes and coordinate with the Software Engineering Competence Lead. This role will be required to lead the software engineering teams throughout the design, implementation and commissioning phases, whilst monitoring and planning the related departmental budgets. A strategic thinker, focussing on optimising resources based on competence and hourly rates to increase Swisslog’s overall competitiveness. Head of Software Engineering EMEA will be required to make sure their teams in the region work according to Swisslog’s standard processes. You will be responsible for monitoring and planning the related department budget.

Bring to the team

It is essential that the successful candidate has experience in software development and engineering and has a clear understanding of IT and Software development topics. The ideal candidate will have a degree in computer science or equivalent education and have extensive knowledge in current software methodology and trends. You must also have previous experience in leading a large software engineering ideally in different geographical locations. Applicants must have excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with different internal functions. The position will be based in one of the larger team locations in Maranello, Italy or Dortmund, Germany.
