Responsibilities

Make an impact
  • Lead the project team and manage activities across all project phases of Automated Material Handling Systems, including contract negotiation, design/engineering, production control, delivery, installation, commissioning, integration, acceptance testing, and driving change processes at client sites.
  • Ensure projects are executed in line with customer satisfaction, technical targets, schedules, financial objectives, scope completeness, and quality standards, in accordance with Swisslog guidelines.
  • Establish, manage, and motivate mixed (Swisslog and client) cross-functional project teams, adhering to SLOG (PHB) standards and acting as an integrator between subcontractors and the customer to enhance overall project benefits.
  • Identify opportunities to increase project benefits and proactively manage risks to prevent project or commercial issues.
  • Prepare, manage, and continuously update the official project schedule in MS Project, planning, executing, and controlling project activities to meet budget, schedule, quality, and technical performance targets while aligning SLOG deliverables with customer milestones.
  • Draft and manage contracts with subcontractors to minimize risks for SLOG, ensure delivery at required quality levels (CE, validation, etc.), and maintain all project documentation in compliance with SLOG quality standards.
  • Maintain updated lists of outstanding items and correspondence with all relevant interfaces, including customers, subcontractors, and co-suppliers.
  • Conduct regular status review meetings with project teams and clients, and submit comprehensive project status reports to management.
  • Support the Sales department during contract definition phases and maintain future business relationships for extensions or new projects.
  • Take ownership of timely issuance and accuracy of all project specifications (layout, functional, acceptance test specs) to avoid technical or contractual risks.
  • Manage progress payment claims and monitor cash flow.
  • Drive change orders and claims with customers as needed.
  • Establish and manage effective project cost control and milestone-based payment processes.
  • Keep project forecasts, cash flow, and status reports up to date.
  • Maintain strong and professional relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Participate in on-site consultations and customer meetings, with support from the site manager or IM whenever necessary.

Application Requirements

What you need to succeed
  • Degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Controls Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 7 years of work experience, preferably in heavy industries such as construction, with at least 4 years in a similar role.
  • Strong leadership, planning, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Self-driven, proactive, flexible, and results-oriented.
  • Team player with a strong customer focus.
  • Awareness of the importance of time, cost, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and oral.
  • Proficient in project management tools such as MS Project and Primavera.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Willingness to travel overseas on short notice.
