Newport News, VA – Swisslog, leading provider of best-in-class warehouse automation and software, has announced it will be using MODEX 2024 (March 11-14) as a platform to emphasize the human side of automation. Highlights include interactive demonstrations and engaging keynotes that illustrate how Swisslog's solutions enhance operational excellence while maintaining a focus on the human experience within automated processes.

“People transform automation from a collection of technologies into a business asset. That’s why people – our own and our customers’ – are at the center of everything we do, said Sean Wallingford, President and CEO of Swisslog Americas. “For instance, our people bring deep industry-specific expertise, backed by a collaborative spirit, to every project. That expertise creates value for our customers from solution design through ongoing support and optimization. Our Swisslog colleagues become an extension of our customers’ teams and share in their aspirations, challenges, and successes.”

This appreciation for the human side of automation represents Swisslog's commitment to not just advancing technological frontiers but doing so in a way that considers the human element in logistics. It has resulted in a culture of customer success and accountability, people with deep industry expertise, automation that is easy to use and manage, and satisfied customers at the end of the supply chain.

First-hand look at innovative solutions

At the Swisslog booth (#B8419), the company will provide attendees with a first-hand look at how our innovative solutions empower businesses to achieve new levels of efficiency while ensuring a positive and collaborative environment for their teams.

This includes a live demo of the latest evolution of its robot-based order picking system, ItemPiQ. The demonstration will showcase the significant improvements made possible by advanced AI capabilities, such as context-aware picking and improved item recognition. Attendees will see first-hand how ItemPiQ streamlines and improves the order picking process. Every aspect of the system is handled within the Swisslog family of companies, from the vision camera to the software. For reliable and effective operation in a complete Swisslog system, the robot cell can be integrated into the SynQ warehouse management system.

Swisslog’s automation expert, James Sharples, vice president of business acceleration, will be sharing new use cases of ItemPiQ that are especially suited for retail and e-commerce applications with general merchandise products.

Booth visitors can also learn more about the latest AutoStore R5 Pro Robot. This new robot is designed to address the specific demands of large-scale e-commerce operations, emphasizing better space usage, higher performance, and reduced total ownership costs for companies running multishift operations at scale. Swisslog’s team of experts dedicated solely to AutoStore consulting, design and software will be on hand to answer questions about the new robot and illustrate how Swisslog’s unmatched integrator experience results in fast deployment and rapid return on investment for our customers.

Industry insight, expertise and experience

Swisslog automation experts will share their warehouse automation experience and expertise in two educational seminars at the show. During the session, “Enhancing Customer Experience with Automated Order Fulfillment,” attendees will learn the latest best practices empowering retailers to meet evolving demands of consumers. Swisslog’s Colman Roche, vice president of AutoStore solutions and Jared Worthington, sales director, will share valuable insight on goods-to-person technologies, efficient order processing and last mile supply chain strategies.

Attendees of the session, “How Automation is Transforming Temperature Controlled Supply Chains,” will learn about the latest automation technologies transforming cold chains. Swisslog’s Art Kostaras, vice president of sales, integrated solutions and Tim Mosier, sales director, will explain how automation can streamline operations, enhance accuracy, and position cold chain warehousing and distribution to adapt to dynamic market demands.

Show attendees can also visit the Swisslog booth to speak with automation experts and learn more about the company’s flexible future-ready automation technology. This includes Swisslog’s team of experts dedicated solely to AutoStore consulting, design and software as well as its Integrated Systems team that can handle all requests for ASRS systems, including Vectura pallet stacker crane, PowerStore pallet shuttle system, CycloneCarrier shuttle system, ACPaQ mixed case palletizing and ItemPiQ.
