Electrical Engineering Manager

Responsible for leading a team of electrical engineers as they develop, test, modify, and implement solutions to technical problems. Participate in all phases of project implementation including: Sales support, system design, specification development, project estimating, procurement, installation, commissioning, testing and handover. Manage the Project Engineering budget and resource allocation. Support the overall financial success of the Engineering department. Participate in change management to help the business achieve growth & financial goals.

  • Supervise and lead engineers and technicians who design electrical automation systems, plan/develop/implement automation projects
  • Oversee the research and development of new products and procedures
  • Hire, train, and mentor other engineers and supporting staff
  • Write performance reviews and solve internal issues
  • Discuss and lay out project specifications
  • Make detailed plans to accomplish goals
  • Analyze market demand and available resources
  • Review, approve, or modify project designs
  • Review and make recommendation on contracts
  • Develop cost/hour estimates
  • Draft proposals and reports for clients
  • Improve engineering processes
  • Check technical accuracy of work
  • Establish administrative policies, procedures, and standards
  • Coordinate activities of unit with other units or organizations
  • Confer with higher levels of management

Application Requirements


  • BS in Engineering
  • 2 years management experience
  • Experience with automated material handling systems and logistics applications
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office products, ePlan and AutoCAD
  • Basic understanding of Industrial Automation and Control Systems
  • Experience in applicable codes and regulations NEC, OSHA, ASME
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated presentation skills

  • MBA or Advanced Degree
  • Understanding of warehouse management software products
  • Experience with mechanical and electrical installation onsite, commissioning and testing
  • Experience in business financial management
