1900
Swisslog traces its roots back to Sprecher + Schuh AG, founded in the Swiss town of Aarau. Initially, the company’s primary area of activity was energy distribution.
1969
First pallet crane invented, creating the foundation for the Vectura product line.
Mid-1980s
Core businesses sold to Alstom Group (France) and Rockwell/Allen-Bradley (USA). Company shifts focus to automation technology, acquiring Translift, Digitron, and OWL.
1994
Sprecher + Schuh changes its name to Swisslog, establishing itself as a leading global provider of automation solutions for hospitals, warehouses, and distribution centers.
1996
Swisslog designs the first robotic picking solution.
1998
Swisslog acquires Munck Automation and enters the US market with its Newport News, Virginia office.
2009
Launch of SynQ software and addition of light goods technology to the portfolio.

Swisslog integrates the first AutoStore ASRS solution.
2014
KUKA, a global leader in robotics and automation, acquires Swisslog.
2016
Swisslog acquires FORTE and its light goods expertise, while adding PAS and the PowerStore pallet shuttle system.
2019
Swisslog Healthcare becomes an independent brand, focusing on healthcare facilities and hospitals. Swisslog continues expanding in intralogistics, production logistics, and supply chain.
2020
Swisslog supports the surge in e-grocery and e-commerce fulfillment solutions.
2023
Swisslog rebrands to reflect a new era of digital logistics.
2024
Swisslog opens new Americas headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, and expands its presence in Canada.
