Swisslog baut Spitzenposition als weltweit führender AutoStore Integrator weiter aus

Logistics systems with SAP EWM: Swisslog secures major orders

Buchs, Switzerland – Three customer projects with AutoStore and SAP EWM / Applications in China, Austria, and Switzerland / Swisslog demonstrates software competence in the market

As one of the leading global providers of intralogistics automation solutions, Swisslog is making great strides with the SAP EWM warehouse management system alongside its own SynQ software platform. The company recently secured three projects with a combined value of over 17 million euros, and a significant element of these involves SAP EWM integration.

These orders were placed by Festo, an automation technology specialist from Germany; Aquipa, a consumer electronics distributor from Austria; and Bühler, a Swiss technology company. All three cases call for a combination of the AutoStore compact storage system and SAP EWM. This will allow Swisslog to further cement its position as the world’s number-one AutoStore provider. “We are delighted that our development of the standard AutoStore concept with SAP EWM offers real added value for our customers. The orders we have secured will allow us to demonstrate our SAP expertise in the market even further,” explained Dr. Christian Baur, CEO of Swisslog. “This also means we are listening to what our customers want within the software sector and offering greater diversity from the Swisslog range,” added Daniel Hauser, Head of Region Central Europe & Middle East for Swisslog.

Global support with a long-term vision

Festo is commissioning the Swiss intralogistics company to build a new, state-of-the-art logistics hub in Shanghai. The cornerstone of this project is an AutoStore solution integrated by Swisslog for storing and picking Festo products. For Festo, a particularly decisive factor in choosing to collaborate with Swisslog was its reputation as a global partner with strong consultation, implementation and service teams in Europe and China. Furthermore, Festo was also convinced to award the contract to Swisslog because of its AutoStore and SAP EWM expertise.

Comprehensive software expertise and long-standing partnership

After considering a variety of software options, the Austrian consumer electronics and accessories provider Aqipa decided to use SAP EWM to control its AutoStore facility in Kundl near Innsbruck. Technology company Bühler also relies on this combination for its new Customer Service Hub in the Swiss municipality of Uzwil.
“Swisslog and Bühler have enjoyed a long-standing partnership spanning many years,” notes Urs Bührer, Head of Logistics Customer Service at Bühler, “so it was an obvious decision to turn to the company for its comprehensive software expertise.”

LogiMAT 2019: Software for continuous optimization

Swisslog will be showcasing its intelligent software solutions for the logistics of tomorrow at the international trade fair LogiMAT from February 19 to 21, 2019. In addition to SAP EWM, another special highlight will be Swisslog's SynQ software, which is set to form the cornerstone of the dynamic exhibit complete with robot-based single-unit order picking. SynQ orchestrates the interplay between the individual storage technologies and enables the ongoing processes to be monitored effectively. This makes the material flow processes more transparent for users and allows them to carry out optimizations on a continuous basis, For further information, please see the LogiMAT press release >>
