Mölnlycke Health Care Oy choses Swisslog Oy as partner for automated material handling
Medical manufacturer Mölnlycke Health Care Oy has chosen Swisslog as partner for developing automated material handling for sterilization in their production facility in Mikkeli, Finland.
With the automation Mölnlycke Health Care Oy will increase the automation level in its production process, reduce the need for manual handling in hazardous environments and support major sterilization capacity increase.
"Other important benefits from the automated solution are an increased cost-efficiency, speed and quality as well as an ability to continue to grow," says Mikko Leppähaara, Sales Manager, Swisslog, Finland.
The chosen solution consists of a Swisslog PowerStore system with three pallet shuttles that operate 250 pallet locations, ProMove conveyors and a pallet change solution.
"This is the first time that we deliver the PowerStore technology in the Nordics. It’s a solution that is normally used in very large facilities, but in this case, it is a solution that makes it possible to handle large amounts of pallets in a very short time," Mikko explains and continues:

The plan is to start implementing the automation during the first quarter 2025.
