DENVER, Colo. March 5, 2018 – Talyst, a leader in automated medication management solutions for long-term and post-acute care facilities, will exhibit under new ownership at the MHA Business Summit following an acquisition by Swisslog Healthcare in August 2017.

“Increasingly, the center of the healthcare universe is the home, not the hospital,” explains Stephan Sonderegger, CEO of Swisslog Healthcare. “This shift, coupled with a significant aging population, increases the need for greater efficiency in long-term care facilities. Our in-facility packaging and dispensing model is helping LTC pharmacies expand their reach to remote sites as well increase service levels through greater access to medications.”

Market adoption of the in-facility model continues to gain momentum with the advancement of regulatory favorability. In 2017, Talyst (now Swisslog) experienced more than a 30% increase in installations of their InSite® In-facility Medication Packaging and Dispensing System.

InSite is now deployed in more than 150 long-term care facilities nationwide, servicing over 12,000 patients and dispensing 5.5 million doses per month, or 67 million doses per year. Additionally, each month the company services 25,000 patients in corrections centers across the country, packaging over 2.7 million doses per month or 32 million doses annually.

“With InSite, the medication dispensing process is automated and accurate,” says Huan Nguyen R.Ph., Vice President of Business Development for the Swisslog Healthcare Long-Term Care division. “We partner with a network of forward-thinking pharmacies to help them capture additional short-cycle dispensing fees while significantly reducing pharmacy labor.”

MHA members will experience a unique, hands-on experience of the InSite system at Swisslog Healthcare booth #626 at the 15th Annual MHA Business Summit in Las Vegas, March 6-9, 2018. To learn more about Swisslog’s long-term care solutions, visit swisslog.com/MHA.
