Facilities Planning

Whether you’re working with or expanding an existing pneumatic tube system, or just starting to consider a new one, let our planning team be an expert resource. Our dedicated Facilities Planning team works with general contractors, architects, engineers and planners to confidently develop and execute on project roadmaps that meet or exceed requirements, budget and timing. What we bring to the job: 60 years of experience in planning and supporting systems for hospitals that run at peak performance. We understand the unique challenges of healthcare applications.

Who we work with

General Contractors

We partner with general contractors to build systems that work. Our planning team will work with your project managers to establish budgets, set schedules and share expertise so the system that gets built delivers in every way. We also invite your team members to our Automation Academy, where they can learn more about our team design systems that address your customers’ critical needs.

The [Swisslog] project management team was great, very helpful in the implementation stages of how to use the machine the best as well as workflow consulting.

Architects and Engineers

When you partner with us, you get to tap into our knowledge from decades spent considering all the angles. We’ve done this a few times before, which means we can make sure you’re asking the right questions – and finding the right answers. We’ll start our approach by analyzing workflows, studying infrastructure requirements and anticipating future demands. Then, our design team translates that into nuts-and-bolts plans for a high-performance pneumatic tube system. Swisslog Healthcare offers an AIA-accredited Continuing Education course that helps your team understand how to address the challenges of hospital material transport through automation.

Facilities Managers and Planners

As a premier partner to those responsible for care environments, we give you and your staff confidence that your system can and will meet the needs of your care providers, reducing downtime and poor performance. We understand the unique requirements and challenges of healthcare environments (after all, we’ve spent more than half a century in them) and our services are designed to keep workflows humming – from minimizing interruptions during the initial research phase to keeping dust down during system installation.

The management is always asking us to do more with less. At the end of the day we are seven departments who work together to construct, inspect, operate and maintain highly sustainable facilities on the University Hospital campus.
