Simon

Controls Developer - Germany. 2 years with Swisslog.

1. Please briefly describe a typical day?
My typical day starts with checking mails and going through my to-do list. I create a plan for the day of what I want to work on. Throughout the day I’m involved in different meetings, calls and discussions with colleagues, all about different topics. To have a plan for the day helps me keep focus in-between.

2. What has been your career highlight – your ‘Greatest’ moment?
That’s tough to say, but I would go with the DM Project in Wustermark. It was the first project I participated in and we had a tough nut to crack: The Region was new to Beckhoff, BCF and the mechanics used for this project, so we had to create everything from scratch.

3. What has been your career path within Swisslog?
I started as a PLC Programmer for the DM Wustermark project and quickly grew to the lead programmer for this project. A year later I changed to the LGCTC to take over QuickBox as a Controls Developer and Product Owner.

The great atmosphere and comfortable work conditions are good surroundings to get through the busiest days without losing motivation.

4. What drives you forward each day / how do you remain so passionate?
To create simple solutions and twist my mind around complex controls topics are the kind of things I really like doing, so it’s easy to stay motivated.

5. How would you describe the team spirit at Swisslog?
Very helpful and open to new ideas. The relaxed atmosphere really helps with enjoying the daily tasks, but at the same time everyone knows when to focus on important topics.

6. Why do you think people should join your Swisslog team?
The great atmosphere and comfortable work conditions are good surroundings to get through the busiest days without losing motivation.
