Swisslog’s TransCar®, Automated Guided Vehicle System, at the new Ng Teng Fong General Hospital and Jurong Community Hospital in Singapore
Singapore, 27 July 2012 –Swisslog’s TransCar® Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) system has been chosen as the automation solution for the transportation of food, medication and linen at JurongHealth’s integrated healthcare hub comprising the 700-bed Ng Teng Fong Hospital (NTFGH) and 400-bed Jurong Community Hospital (JCH). The twinned hospitals will be ready at end 2014 and mid 2015 respectively.
Swisslog Healthcare Solutions was awarded a contract which calls for the largest number of TransCar® AGVs that will be in operation at a single facility. As a partner in JurongHealth’s drive towards automation, Swisslog’s TransCar® AGV will operate at back-of-house to support the transportation of meals, drugs, ward-stock medication, linen and documents, 24 hours a day, seven days a week throughout the three main buildings of the integrated healthcare hub namely, the ward and clinic towers at NTFGH and JCH.
